ABOUT

I am a photographer and mixed media artist living in Chicago. As a child, I learned pastel and oil painting from my grandpa and photography from my uncle, a professional photographer. Over the years I’ve explored photography, encaustic, collage, fiber arts and watercolor, as an omnivorous lifelong learner
who loves experimenting.

Today, I spend most of my time taking photos around Chicago or working with vintage papers and found objects in my studio. Living in the city gives me new opportunities and inspirations daily, and my love of literature is sometimes shown in combinations of art and words. 

 

While I'm always drawn to symmetry and geometric patterns, I also love sinuously curved lines, the way colors shimmer in delicious layers of paint, and the way nature interacts with the things humans build. I believe in art-making as a spiritual act. It gives us the gift of intensely experiencing the world through heightened attention.
